Rebel
The flames within burning bright
Mocking the world, she walked through night.
A smile on her face, a twinkle in her eyes,
Unafraid, and uncaring, unperturbed by lies.
Broken manacles adorning her wrist
A rebel, with emancipation she had a tryst.
Leaving behind the blood that bound,
The beat of her heart spoke of courage profound.
No pretty bangles nor make up she had,
And gorgeous yet, fascinating and glad.
Alleys and corners scared her no more,
Undeterred, intrepid, steeled from the core.
Not a woman's world was she told,
And yet she dared to defy, beautiful and bold.
